Created with flickr slideshow.

Thanks to our amigos iFanboy, Bay Area Derby Girls, NorCal Pirate Frest, SF's Tiki Bars, all of you, and to my special guest host the Reverend Dave Johnson (100 BULLETS, PUNISHER, SUPERMAN: RED SON) for making this year's tour my favorite one ever.

And a special thanks out to Dyami Serna for providing the photographic proof with these great photos.

With just over 150 passports handed out, hordes and hordes of pirates, and my email in-box filled with the thanks of appreciative tiki bar owners... I honestly don't know how we're *ever* going to top this one!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the truly great weekend we hosted, to our co-sponsors iFanboy, and especially to our special guests from both Saturday (Darwyn Cooke, J. Bone, Dave Bullock,) and Friday (Ben Templesmith, Antony Johnston).

For those folks who couldn't attend we've got hundreds more photographs and hours of video still to be declassified. Not to mention what Ron, Conner, and Josh from iFanboy scored. Watch this space over the next few days for lots more!

52 Series as "Movie In Your Mind"
Epic Trainwreck of Embarrassment!

You're not currently drinking a glass of milk are you? Because if you are you need to swallow that mouthful, put the glass down on the table over there, and prepare to laugh your ass off.

Those following my Twitter feed already know that the staff was setting up the shop yesterday while listening to the downright painful graphic audio adaptation of 52. Imagine, if you will, a radio play of the weekly mega-epic 52, complete with music, sound effects, and voice actors. Now add to this heady mix a healthy pinch of bad choices and you're baking up a craptacular trainwreck of insane hilarity!

Sure... I guess I can get behind Booster Gold sounding like Keanu Reeves from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and Lobo sounding like a poor-man's Macho Man Randy Savage. But why oh why did they decide to make the Middle Eastern monarch Black Adam sound exactly like the breakfast-cereal-hungry vampire Count Chocula?! And for that matter, why did they have to spend so much time on such lurid descriptions of lesbian sex scenes with Renee Montoya?!

Oh right... they're trying to make us laugh!

Well, laugh we did. And so will you, because our friends at iFanboy have posted up two of the most offensive clips from this gloriously ridiculous epic superheroic embarrassment!

Talking Romance & Comics
w/ iFanboys & iFangirls

Aw, how sweet! Nerds in love. What could be more wonderful?

When it comes to the crime of hopeless romanticism, I'm stone-cold guilty. Exotic candlelight dinners, long drives in the country, Sunday afternoon champagne lunches, candycoated love songs from the 60's, soft touches on the cheek of that special someone... I like all that cheesy stuff. But if you're reading this, you already know all of that. Because, honestly, could "moving to San Francisco to pursue the dream of opening up a swanky lounge devoted to nothing but comic books" be a more romantic notion?

With this in mind, I simply had to point out iFanboy's most sweetly adorable video episode yet. Yes, that's right, it's a comic-centric love and relationship advice show, featuring not just the boys... but also their significant others. Fill your heart full of affection and check this one out. Awesome!

Inside the Psyche of Hank Pym
iFanboy's Tribute to Civil War

Captain America is dead and even CNN knows that blood-thirsty comic book author Ed Brubaker killed off the living comic book embodiment of the American dream. What's a fanboy to do to celebrate this fallen hero?

Well if the fanboy in question is iFanboy, they document the conflict that had the nation torn asunder.

One Evening + Five Tiki Bars
= Hilarious Video Footage

Ladies and gentlemen, now you can witness with your own two eyes recently declassified footage from the Isotope's WonderCon weekend Tiki Tour with Adam Beechen and iFanboy. Perhaps out best tour of SF tiki bars yet, we packed every island themed retreat we hit, made dozens of new friends and compatriots, and burned through the city streets with a crew of cool comic nerds and nerdettes running 40 deep.

Check out the footage from the evening too see some hilarious fruity drink enhanced freudian slips, lots of great Polynesian drinking joints, and your friends from Isotope and iFanboy having one hell of a great time! The boys were also kind enough to jam-pack their WonderCon report with interviews with David Mack, Matt Wagner, Matt Silady, Phil Jimenez, Judd Winick, Mindy Owens, and our featured Tiki Tour guest Adam Beechen.

But trust us... you're going to want to watch this video for our Cultural Attaché Josh Richardson's Captain America rant alone.

The Fanboys' Latest Videocast Features
Kirsten Baldock's Smoke & Guns

Another iFanboy post?!

With our two big events this weekend being co-sponsored by our amigos at iFanboy we've a had a lot of folks asking us just what the heck Ron, Conor, Josh and crazy intern Patrick are up to over on their website that's so wonderful that we'd let them co-sponsor two big parties with us. Well, we think that once you check out the pod-and-videocasts these gentlemen are producing, you'll like these guys as much as we do.

To get your Isotope-centric episodes, check out their WonderCon wrap-up, or you can listen to their "live" podcast recorded from upstairs at the Isotope featuring podcast-virgin guest co-host James Sime... who had no idea he was going to be on the show and hopes he didn't make an ass out of himself!

Or better yet, watch iFanboy's review of our Special Project Director Kirsten Baldock's original graphic novel Smoke & Guns.
