Isotope Brings a Feast for Your Eyes... An Original Page Every Day for 36 Days
In celebration of the Isotope's month-long gallery showing of JH Williams III's gorgeous Batman original artwork (and in honor of #669 hitting on our new arrivals rack today) I'm going to be sharing with you readers of the Isotope website 36 days of glorious, glorious art!
These aren't high quality scans (far from it) they're fairly crummy photographs, in fact. I am of the opinion that no scanner or camera can truly do these pages justice anyway. Oh okay, I'll admit it... I really just want you people to stop in to my funnybook shop and see these pages with your own two eyes as they hang in our gallery from September 29th on through October 31st. And to attend the opening reception too.
Consider what you see here as an amuse bouche, bite-sized morsels of wonderfulness to wet your collective appetites. Those of you out there who are spoiler sensitive might want to avoid looking too closely. And with that I say... enough talk, let's bring on that art!

The Isotope is ecstatic to be ground-zero for Planet Earth's only month-long original art gallery showing of every single page and cover from JH Williams III's amazing panel-shattering Batman arc with Grant Morrison. Including the yet-to-be-published Batman #669! If you haven't seen these pages already I can promise you that your jaw will drop when you do...
Mark your calendars for our massive opening reception bash with the man himself on Saturday, September 29th. Starting at 8pm and going through to the midnight hour. And yes, pages of Mister Williams' beautiful artwork will be available for purchase!
Ahhhh... it's good to be part of the Isotope family, isn't it?Labels: Batman, comics, events, gallery, Grant Morrison, JH Williams III, schedule

The Ever-Changing Sound & Imagescapes of Brian Eno's 77 Million Paintings
It's things just like this I moved to San Francisco for in the first place, so if you're out at the Yerba Buena Center tonight you'll definitely be running into me!
You might know Brian Eno for his work producing the best albums Devo, The Talking Heads and U2 ever made. Or you might know him from his own body of great music. Or perhaps you know him for his talks at art universities. Or I suppose you might know him for his strange-but-true dilemma-breaking deck of cards. He's a pretty interesting guy, that Eno.
This weekend sees the North American premiere of this visionary's latest project Brian Eno's 77 Million Paintings. Conceived as "visual music" created through "generative software" is an exploration into the artistic medium of light and sound in a constantly evolving world of digitally-created flat-screen psychedelia.
If you're planning on attending this tempory art installation celebration, I'll be easy to spot in my red suit with my tall hair... spacing out with cocktail in hand in front of the 45 foot Projection Wall by Obscura Digital.

The Isotope Gallery Proudly Presents Casey & Adlard's Brilliant Rock Bottom
What could be more exciting than seeing two favorite creators working together... and doing the best work of either of their lives? Because without a doubt, that is exactly what AIT/PlanetLar's Rock Bottom is!
And the original pages from this book are now hanging in the Isotope gallery for all who walk in the front door to enjoy. Click the photos to see them in all their large-sized glory.

Combining one of the true voices of our time Joe Casey, the author behind the beloved Wildcats 3.0, and the Eisner-nominated artist Charlie Adlard who brings The Walking Dead to life... even we were surprised by how profoundly powerful this quiet little tale of a man turning to stone is.
We encourage everyone to check out this book is, but you don't have to take our word for it, go ahead and check out all the great reviews and click the unlettered pages below for a preview.

Robertson Delivers The Goods In Sick Twisted Genius Fashion
If you're anything like us here at the Isotope, one of the things you'd love to have more of in your life is Transmetropolitan. Although the series ended back in 2002, we still break out the Vertigo graphic novels for re-readings all the time. Yes, we'd simply love to have more Transmet... and now, my dear friends, that is exactly what we have!
Allow me present without further ado the much-hoped-for next issue of the legendary Transmetropolitan series by the original creative team, Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson, which only exists as part of the Isotope's Comic Rockstars Toilet Seat Museum.
Mr. Robertson pulled out all the stops on this one, ladies and gentlemen, including "Spider's Live Feed Ass Cam," and splatter-marks in several nauseating shades under the lid. And, if you look closely you can see that, yes indeed, those are pills lodged in those dubious stains, true testaments to Darick's disgusting genius.
Here's Darick's seat, and for your convenience, Warren Ellis' script as well. Click the photos to enlarge:
