Eric Powell Sings "Flesh For Fantasy"

The Goon Creator Does It Billy Idol Style
With a Change in Pace of Fantasy & Taste

Everybody knows how cool we here at the Isotope think the fantastically talented Goon author/artist Eric Powell is, which is why we threw him this super kick-ass event when he came to visit us. Yeah, that Powell, he's cool alright.

But as I was watching his latest video celebrating the relaunch of his website I got to wondering... is he really cooler than Billy Idol? Sure Powell's brought us all a lot of joy both with his funnybooks and his crazy antics at the Eisner Awards this year... but then again, Billy Idol did that hot Christmas album last December. Hmmmmm.

It was just about the time when I was starting to weigh the relative merits of Powell's frankly incredibly wonderful issue of Action Comics #855 against Idol's equally nifty skunk pelt jacket when Powell broke out his best sneer and launched into a hyper-testosteroned version of Idol's Flesh For Fantasy on video. Whoa!

Go check Powell out on his website and decide for yourselves who is cooler. And be sure to check back next week when he starts running a five-part documentary on the obsessions and explosions that inspired his up-coming magnum opus The Goon: Chinatown.
