Civil War: What Might Have Been

A Must-Read Last Look @ Civil War
Alternate Endings & So Much More

Over at the Blogarama famed industry troublemaker, amusing Scotsman, and Isotope amigo Graeme McMillan points us towards a really interesting behind-the-scenes look at Marvel's epic event of 2006 Civil War.

Mark Millar's original pitch is available for your process junkie fix, along with insightful editorial notes from Joe Quesada and Tom Brevoort. Some of the details revealed prove to be pretty facinating. It's interesting to see where the pitch deviates from the printed page, the original plans for the glorious return of Marvel's Norse god of thunder (too bad they messed that one up!), and you're sure to laugh out loud when you hear about the gamma-irradiated surprise Millar wanted to serve up for the big slam-bash ending. Seriously?!

All in all, it's a really great peek behind the wizard's curtain at how comics are made. Thanks for pointing it out, Graeme!
