Clueing You In On What's Up With Eric Powell's Baby
Chances are if you're reading this website, you're waiting for Eric Powell's Satan's Sodomy Baby just like I am. Did it even come out? Has it sold out already? Are you really going to have to spend twenty bucks on eBay to get one? And are you ever going to get your hands on a copy?! Yeah, seriously!
In an effort to get the straight dope on what's happening with this book, I did my research online, found out what Mister Powell himself had to say about it, and got my Diamond distributor rep on the phone.
As some of you already know, the book was intitially bumped at the printer because of a glut of Free Comic Book Day books. And on his messageboard Mister Powell tells the hilarious tale of the book getting bumped a second time because the printer's spam filter automatically directed the order email to the trash thanks to the word "sodomy" in the message. To add insult to injury, Diamond Distributors has decided the book must be bagged for the public's saftey (which the printer did not do), and it is now being stopped at all distribution centers to be hand-bagged by Diamond staff members. The result? Another week delay. And according to Diamond some shops on the East Coast have gotten copies, but not all of them. And we West Coast shops have yet to see any. Also, just to make Satan's Sodomy Baby's little life even more difficult, those shops that didn't order enough copies back when the orders were placed won't be able to get them. The book isn't available for reorder!
So... and are you ever going to get your hands on a copy?! Yes, my friends, you will!
The Isotope's abundance of copies have been promised to us for next week (Wednesday May 23, 2007) and thanks to some forward-thinking on your Isotope amigos part, we will have plenty of copies on hand for anyone who wants them.
Hooray!
For those of you who are still worried about getting a copy, feel free to give us a call or drop us a line if you'd like us to put a copy of this book aside with your name on it!Labels: comics, Eric Powell
