We're All About An Emond Tribute But No Credit? No Effing Way!
It's well known that we here at the Isotope are huge fans of New Zeland artist Martin Emond and the clothing company he started with fellow artist Simon Morse and lifelong friend Steve Hosley; Illicit Streetwear. Although Marty's passed on, it's great to see the company that he and his pals started doing so well and Emond's work getting so much attention these past few years. But the latest attention Marty's work has been getting doesn't make us none too happy. Because it's uncredited.
In a recent interview with ABC News, Illicit rep Steve Hosley is quoted as saying "It's not fair that Emond was not recognized for his work... Emond was living in Los Angeles and probably met the people who made the video... people probably knew what a huge talent Emond was but none of them had the guts to use his art and pay him properly."
And for that, here's a collective "up yours" out to Pink's video director. As well as some love to Isotope's Illicit pals Steve and Tanya who continue to keep the legacy and memory of Marty's work alive.
