The Mighty Peter Milligan's Return to Glory w/ New Original Series from Wildstorm & Vertigo
Grant Morrison famously called him "the best looking author in comics" but anyone who has encountered one of Milligan's many masterpieces knows to appreciate the Irish virtuoso for his frightfully beautiful writing.
Boasting a body of work that includes a James Joyce and John Steinbeck inspired futuristic gangster epic in Skreemer, an odd, self-consciously neurotic band of mutant "heroes" out for fame and riches in X-Force, a taut psychological spy thriller starring one hell of an unreliable narrator in Human Target, an ode to loveable cannibal families everywhere in The Eaters, a surreal journey into the psychedelic toilet of an otherworld in Sooner or Later... and perhaps the greatest postmodern superhero comic ever made in Enigma.
While Milligan may not have impressed many fans, critics, or even members of the Isotope staff with the majority of his work over the past couple years (although we desperately loved X-Statix Presents: Dead Girl), we've always felt that Milligan worked best stretching his wings on eccentric and original ideas of his own making... and that a return to Milligan glory could be just around the next corner.
With the leaked news of two new original Milligan books in the works, The Program from Wildstorm and The Bronx Kill from Vertigo, we here at the Isotope suspect that next corner is coming up fast. And that either sooner or later... you'll love Peter Milligan!
