It's Geekfest 2006!

As if the city of San Francisco didn't already offer you enough reasons to make you cut your momma's apron strings, quit your unfulfilling job, rent a moving truck, and risk hell and high water to get to live in SF Bay Area... here's one more: Geekfest.

Scraping the underbelly of the Bay Area rock and punk music scenes, this series of free, all-ages shows have kept SF, Oakland, Richmond and beyond discovering new music and rocking since the mid-nineties. By-passing all the typical informational channels Geekfest organizers embrace the chaotic DIY esthetic to it's fullest by choosing bands only on a "first come, first serve" basis and by going so far as to keeping band schedules during their day-long concerts a secret. Check out the latest flyer for a list of bands participating in 2006.

Great times, terrific bands, and a cool all-ages free concert format... what's not to like? Promoted only by word of mouth, keep your finger on the underground pulse of the San Francisco Bay Area music scene by dialing in to the perpetually updating hotline.
