Wizard Magazine Loses Content Strike While the Iron is Hot!
Most comic fans have already heard about the six week delay of Marvel's super summer blockbuster Civil War and many inter-related titles like Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and Avengers. We here at the Isotope certainly aren't happy about delayed books that inconvenience or disrupt the reading enjoyment of our customers, and yes, we've read the messageboards, so we know It's a realbadthing.
But while the industry is in an uproar about this latest outrage your friends at the Isotope have been thinking about what a great and unique opportunity this presents for independent comic creators and publishers. Because surely Wizard Magazine and industry news sites that get a majority of their content from Marvel Comics have also come to the conclusion that a six-week delay in the comics also means a six-week delay in those spoiler-laden articles about the twists and turns of the Civil War storyline.
And if Wizard isn't running those articles next month... they're going to need to run something else, aren't they? After all, you can't have a magazine without content, can you? So we're encouraging all our indy comic creating and publishing friends to contact Wizard and those industry news sites and take this unique opportunity to get their books some press!
And for Marvel: We know you've heard a million of 'em over the past couple days, but here's one more idea to help avoid this situation in the future.
