The Temporary Sin City bar in Tokyo
Where We Want to be Drinking Right Now
Without question San Francisco is the greatest city on Earth, with everything one could want in a city world-famous for its culture, beauty, community, and even its comic stores. Certainly other cities have all sorts of coolness happening and great folks to get to meet... but even so, it isn't very often that we here at the Isotope catch wind of something that gives us a little twinge of envy.
But today we're green with envy over Tokyo's awesome Sin City bar.
Based on the utterly cool comics and the oh-so sexy movie of the same name, the Sin City Bar is a promotional gimmick that takes theme bars and great movie marketing to new heights of gloriousness. Three bars, a full kitchen, VIP rooms, and a thrice nightly self-proclaimed sexy dance show of risque proportions mix with Frank Miller's stylistic and atmospherically hard boiled world to create any comic and booze nerd's ultimate Sin City dream come true.
The long back bar, you can almost see Marv bellying up.
"Sexy Dance Show" stage where the dancers do their thing.
"Miho's Room" aka VIP suite with the heart shaped bed from the first Sin City page ever.
The middle bar. Seatless to reduce drunken barfights over who sits where.
Sadly, this bar is only going to be around through the end of the year so it's pretty unlikely that members of the Isotope staff will get to belly up to the Sin City bar ourselves. However, the Isotope staff of former and current bartenders aren't without our resources, and we did get our hot little hands on bootlegged recipe for one of Sin City's signature cocktails so for those of us who won't be going there in person we can still shake up one of these and re-read the graphic novels instead!
Sin City's Hartigan
4 oz Grey Goose Vodka
3 fresh mint sprigs (muddled in shaker)
Juice of two lemons
Three fresh blackberries
Serve in your Riedel Vinum Martini Glass for best results.
