The Original Daredevil SlagRockers
March 31st @ the Stork Club
Carrying on the wheelie popping, hard-rocking, asphault chipping glory of the great Evel Knievel himself are the jumpsuited daredevil slagrockers Shevel Knievel. These three amp cranking, power chord pounding ladies do America's greatest living icon proud by forging over 5000 different kinds of pure rock and roll into their original trademark SlagRock sound.
With perhaps the deepest appreciation for the 70's icon to be found outside the pages of Evel Incarnate, no band is more willing to put their reputations, bodies, and minds on the line to please a blood hungry audience. Shevel Knievel thinks you'll like their brand of daredevil rock and roll as evidenced by the following, pulled straight from the Shevel Knievel website:
"If you like Motorhead, Rush, Iron Maiden, Blue Oyster Cult, JC Superstar, Queen, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath or Barry Manilow, you're gonna love Shevel. If you have a Star Trek tattoo, chances are real high that you'll like Shevel. If you know what A.D.I.D.A.S. really stands for...then, it's pretty obvious: you're gonna love Shevel. Shucks, whether you're an Asimov lover or an Octavia Butler fan, the list of comparisons and 'if...then' statements is as endless as the forging of the underground SlagRock sound. Come see us and make up your own mind, or at least let us make you drown in a puddle of your own DROOL!"
Now that's the Isotope's kind of band.

And true Knievel fans won't want to miss the DVD release of Viva Knievel this May or the April 5th premiere of Knievel's Wild Ride on A&E featuring the real-life exploits of Evel's daredevil son Robbie. One look at the footage from this show will get your blood boiling and make you wince in pain.
